I am looking forward to your feedback and suggestions. AIFF and WAV files (including tagging) Bit-perfect playback (visualized. As per the RIP strategy published on this site, I am ripping to FLAC for archiving and AIIF for playback. Apple made popular this full-featured mp3 player-organizeriTunes is the easiest. About 1 of my CDs had one or more tracks that could not be ripped with confidence by JRMC or EAC or dBpoweramp. (JRMC doesn't use the AccurateRip database or C2 pointers info.) Another 3-4 required extra reads on one or more tracks but the tracks could be ripped with confidence. You can find screenshots of my XLD settings below. About 95 of my CDs required no extra re-reads. You can find the manual on : BitPerfect: Manual For Bit Perfect, I simply followed the recommended settings highlighted in the manual. Today we announce the release of BitPerfect v3.2.0 which supports the new Apple Music app which replaces iTunes in macOS Catalina. Bitperfect runs with iTunes and it will set the sample rate and the bit depth ually. Again you need the MIDI setup to select the DAC and the sample rate. iTunes will play the highest sample rate that your external DAC will play. I am looking for feedback on the settings I made in XLD and what settings I should change in iTunes, although I guess that the iTunes settings do not really matter anymore since I am using Bit Perfect. You will need MIDI setup to see it when you select it. I am using an optical toslink/SPDIF connection between my MacBook and my BelCanto DAC (C5i). For now, all music will be stored on the local hard drive of my Macbook. I am planning on using XLD to rip CD's and playback via Bit Perfect / iTunes. Based on what I have found on this site, I have adjusted the settings of the software I am running on my Macbook Pro 13' model summer 2012.
